Dear Mrs. Schlemmer: There has just been referred to me...

Transkription: Re: Estate of Curt Valentin, Deceased Dear Mrs. Schlemmer: There has just been referred to me your letter of January 20th asking about paintings by Oskar Schlemmer which you claim may have belonged to you. All of the paintings and other works of art which were in the Valentin Gallery at the time of Mr. Valentin's death in August 1954 have been sold, and the Gallery itself was closed in December 1955. If you are of the opinion that paintings belonging to you were at the Gallery, I feel that you should have communicated with me sooner than a year and a half after Curt Valentin's death. At this time, with everything disposed of, I fear that there is very little I can do to help you. However, if you yourself have photographs of the paintings which you claim, I suggest that you send them to me and I will do what I can to trace them for you. This, however, is without any admission that any of the paintings which were in the Gallery belong to you. Very truly yours, Ralph F. Colin
